Going from 3 kids to 4 hasn't been as hard as I was terrified it was going to be..granted it's only been 12 days..and we haven't had to go anywhere with just me and the 4 children..but so far so good.

All three kids adore Blake, and he is rarely put down if any of them are around. Callie seems to have FINALLY adjusted to a new baby in the house. She is constantly wanting to hold "baby Bake". The other day, she was so excited and shouted out, "baby Bake hoda my fingahs!" I grabbed the camera and snapped this picture.

She is so sweet with him, and it's these moments that I love!

Blake found his thumb. He doesn't suck on it much, but I think it's so cute when he does. Jaxon was SO irritated that Blake was sucking on his thumb. He wanted the thumb out and the bink in. He can't stand it when other kids suck their thumbs..he's a little obsessive..

I love this little baby, and am so grateful he's here as a part of our family!

BLAKE LARRY RICHEY

Our precious baby is here! It was a little unexpected, and scary, but we are both okay. I went into the doctor in Friday morning because my umbilical hernia had come out again. I've had problems from it before, but nothing like this. It hurt SO bad and neither I, nor the doctor could get it to go back in. I was getting a head ache, so the doctor was worried that maybe a little bowel might be caught in the hernia. He called in a specialist, and between the two of them, they decided to induce me and then fix the hernia after the baby was born. So I was sent over to the hospital.
I got my epidural at 1:30 and was waiting for the doctor to come and break my water. At 3:00, the nurse came in and checked me and said that I was only dilated to a 3. Right after she walked out, I told Rob that I felt like I had peed my pants...which was impossible because I had a catheter in. Rob told me that my water had probably broken. He came over to look, and he went pale. He called the nurse and told her that I was bleeding really bad. Two nurses rushed in and checked me out and immediately called my doctor. He was in surgery, so another doctor came right over. He basically said that I didn't really have any other option but to have a c-section immediately. He said that if I didn't, I would lose too much blood, and that the baby would lose oxygen. So they rushed me into surgery, and baby Blake was born at 3:17 on 4/09/2010.

He is perfect. He weighed 6lb 13oz, and was 19in long. He is my smallest baby yet. He looks a lot like Jaxon did as a baby with the dark hair and skin. And he has the tiniest little cry that I just love!

It's so amazing how much you can love these little babies right when you first hold them. He is so snugly and is such a good baby...I know he is only 3 days old, I just hope it lasts!

The hardest part is that the 3 kids at home don't want to leave Blake alone. They ALL want to hold him, ALL the time! Poor Blake doesn't get a minute alone. I just hope this novelty wears off soon!

Easter

Happy Easter!

We started the holiday off with egg decorating, but skipped the egg hunts this year. Rob had to run to Salt Lake last minute to do some work and I wasn't up to taking all 3 kids Easter egg hunting, alone, while being 37 weeks pregnant. Rob got home around 10:00 on Saturday night, just in time to help the Easter bunny put out the baskets. Rob's mom did an Easter egg hunt on Sunday at her house, though, so I don't feel like the kids really missed out all that much. They have PLENTY of candy!

The kids actually did pretty good this year dipping the eggs on their own...and only one bowl of color got spilled. Jaxon was so proud of his egg, he decided to save it and leave it out for the Easter Bunny to see.

Callie was only interested in this duck sticker she has on her hand. She didn't care much for coloring the eggs. This is probably the reason only one bowl of color got spilled!

The kids with their finished eggs. They were all eaten within minutes of this picture being taken (except for the one saved for the Easter bunny, of course). Anybody else's kids LOVE hard-boiled eggs???

I told the kids not to make silly faces. Kenadee always has to do exactly opposite of what I ask, and as soon as Callie saw her, she just had to copy. At least I have one child that minds ;)

When the kids woke up on Easter morning, none of them remembered that it was Easter. All 3 kids just laid in my bed watching cartoons for about an hour. Finally at 9:00, I reminded them that it was Easter and they all bolted out of my room. Callie kept yelling, "Bunny Rabbit came!!"

Hopefully the next time you hear from me, it will be about Blake's arrival...only 2 1/2 more weeks until the due date!!
