The things they say!

This was my conversation with Jaxon after he woke up. I was sitting on the couch playing with Callie:

Me: "Jaxon, are you ready for breakfast?"

Jaxon: "Sure. How about I have some cereal, and Callie can have some boob."

Good Times!!

And then last night, Jaxon was putting the pillows on my bed and he and Rob have this conversation:

Jaxon: "This is mom's pillow."
Rob: "How do you know?"

Jaxon: "Because it smells like her."
Rob: "What does she smell like?"

Jaxon: "Armpit."

He was as serious as ever - what I want to know is what exactly does "armpit" smell like, and how does he even know what "armpit" is?

Lesson Learned!

Apparently this is what happens when you try to shower with all three kids awake and unattended . . .

Callie has just started into the new and exciting world of food. So far, we have only tried rice cereal, and rice cereal mixed with a tiny bit of applesauce. She still isn't too sure of the whole eating thing. Well, while I was busy in the shower this morning, Kenadee got out some pureed peaches and force fed poor Callie the entire size 2 container. I'm not sure how much actually got into her mouth verses in her eyes/down her front/on the carpet/in her hair/on the blanket/etc,etc.

You really can't tell how big of a mess this was by the pictures! It was awful! Poor Callie - she is so patient!

Darth Vader

Jaxon has been talking about being Darth Vader for Halloween for a while now, and my mom found a costume at Kohls on Tuesday, so I had her pick it up. I made the mistake of telling him that she got it, and he got so excited! Well, he has this phone list that we made together with all of his important phone numbers on it (grammy and papa Richey, grandma and grandpa Esplin, Rob's cell, etc.), and he decided he was going to call grandma and ask her if she would bring the costume over so he could have it. Apparently he called them, but had to leave a message on their answering machine because they weren't home. I couldn't believe that he figured out to call them all on his own, without any help. He is getting too big!
My mom called me around 8:30 P.M. when she got home, and said it was the saddest message she had ever heard. He told her how he just couldn't wait until tommorow for his Darth Vader costume, and could she please just bring it over tonight.

Well grandma and grandpa couldn't resist his pleading voice, so at 9:30, they showed up at our door with his costume. He was so happy! I haven't seen such an excited boy since Christmas. He even slept with his light saber. This morning, he woke up at the crack of dawn and put the costume back on, and yes, it is still on. I am hoping I can convince him to change before we go the rodeo tonight!

Of coarse Kenadee was pretty jealous that she didn't get a costume, so grandma and grandpa took her to Lins (the only store open) to try and find something. She apparently didn't like anything they had, so she came home with a box of ice cream sandwiches instead. That's my girl!

Good thing I love her!

So last night, I told Jax and Kena to go get their toothbrushes ready so I could brush their teeth. I then went and put Callie to bed. When I went back to check on them, Kena was just playing in the water. So I asked her again to get her toothbrush, and she looked at me with total seriousness and said "pooh pooh". So I swatted her bum and said "don't call mama pooh pooh." She then looked at me, straight faced as ever, and stuck her tongue out at me. By this time, Jaxon was laughing hysterically, which was totally egging her on. And it completely caught me off guard, because she isn't usually so defiant. . . so I smacked her little mouth. She continued to look at me without a hint of regret, and whispered "baby". I was dying! I wanted to laugh, but at the same time, I couldn't believe she had just done that. What am I going to do with her? She is only two and she is already getting such an attitude! Good thing I love her!

Pre School

Jaxon started preschool last week, and I am loving it! It is so nice to be able to run errands with 2 kids instead of 3- and to think I used to complain before when I only had the 2 kids to haul around!
When I picked Jaxon up after his first full day, I asked him how it was, and he said "too long". Hopefully he'll get used to sitting still again soon! Jax and his cousin Tate are in the same class (poor teacher!). The first day, Jaxon told me that he and Tate each got one strike for talking to each other - we'll see how the rest of the school year goes :)

Kenadee is so sad that she doesn't get to go to school, too. I've told her that she can go when she is 3. It's so funny, because she calls it "pretty school", and tells everyone that she gets to go to her pretty school in 5 minutes when she is 3.

Notice that Jaxon no longer has his faux-hawk. When we got it cut last time, the guy that combed his hair apparently pulled it to get it to stand up better. Well when we went in this time, that same guy walked by, and Jaxon immedietly assumed his hair was going to get pulled again and said "I want down hair!!". I couldn't comvince him that this guy wasn't going to pull his hair, and hence the faux-hawk got cut off.

Best Pet Ever!

Over the past year, Rob has brought home 3 different dogs for the kids to have as pets, and I have successfully gotten rid of all 3! I am just not a pet person . . . not sure why, we had them growing up . . . I just don't want a pet. Anyway, I have this huge pussywillow wreath hanging in my hallway, and one of little pussywillows fell off. Kenadee found it, and thought it was a baby mouse. She carries that thing around like it is a priceless treasure. She has lost it a few times, but when she does, I just pluck another one off of the wreath and tell her I found it. The other day, she actually ate it with her breakfast cereal. She started spitting and saying that her cereal was "rotten". When I looked at what she had spit out, it was a chewed up "baby mouse". The best part is that I convinced her to name it "Pussy Willow". She has no idea why, but maybe someday she will get the irony. Kids are great!

Notice the huge wreath in the background-the birth place of "Pussy Willow"

Labor Day

We spent the labor day holiday out at Sand Hollow Res. The weather was perfect - overcast and not too hot. And the best part was than no one came home with the awful swimmer's itch that we all got last year!
Towards the end of the day, the wind started to blow and it got a little chilly if you were wet!

Callie spent nearly the entire day asleep in the port-a-crib. . .what a life!

Don't you love being puked on by your kids? This is actually Rob's first facial covering; with 3 kids, it was bound to happen sometime!

It's actually not too bad - I've definately had worse. Atleast it didn't get in his mouth. . .right? He kept a smile on his face the whole time, and not one swear came out-I was shocked!

Does anyone else's bed look like this at 6:00 a.m.? I'm so glad we kept our old bed as a spare, so that I have a place to go sleep when I get kicked out of mine.
